Meet our Members: Mary Robinson, Project Dandelion

Updated: Apr 20, 2025

“You are here to draw on your power. 5.8 million people identify with faith- that’s 80 % of the world’s population. Faith can be the foundation of transformative change to tackle our climate and nature crisis…..Where women lead, action follows”

"If you're a prisoner of hope, the glass may not be half full, but you work with what's there." Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and Founder of Project Dandelion (a women-led campaign for climate justice) and member of The Elders, recently joined us at our event 'Going further, faster, together: towards a global, multi-faith, women-led climate action network'.

In this video, Mary discusses how it is important to have hope when working in difficult circumstances, and how this hope can come from seeing women building climate resilience through community connection. Mary also calls for more women to be involved in decision making - especially at the high political level.
